Revitalize our territory: a urban artwork by IlBaro on the new Energy cabin

In the recent years, the urban artwork has obtained more and more space in the cultural and social landscape of cities, turning public and private spaces into real open-air museums. Winning over even the most skeptical. For a simple reason: often an artwork from street art, as can be a mural or a graffiti, can “recover” an abandoned wall or a facade of a crumbling building, making it good for the eye, with a bit of color and obviously a 'good creative idea behind it”;in the most cases, making it a real artwork, with all the beauty and the emotional world that it brings with it.
This is the premise of the recent initiative undertaken by Losma company.
During the building extension works, a new Energy cabin was built, used to supply energy needs to Curno-based company. Coming out of the factory all white and immaculate, after a few weeks it had become a blackboard for “unauthorized writers” who tried to create brief writings or sketches of graphic ideas, but, definitevely, no completed work.
This led to the idea of commissioning a restyling or, rather, a decoration artwork from one of Bergamo's best-known and most appreciated street artists in the reference landscape, Mr. Paolo Baraldi, alias “IlBaro,” thanks to the company HG80, a social enterprise, specializing in art projects for territory.
«It all started by fun», explains Mrs. Letizia Invernizzi, General Manager of Losma SpA company. «We wanted to restore the cabin from the writings as it was originally, completely white. Then, we wondered how long it would last. It was clear that, in this case, we needed to come up with a brilliant idea. Then, from the feeling to the implementation, the step was short: Mr. Baraldi’s and HG80's project convinced us immediately. I hope that this simple action will contribute at least to make more pleasant the environment around us and to make more enjoyable what we live and we experience every day».
Beyond the meaning of the artwork, where, as often happens, everyone recognizes their own worlds and their own suggestions, in order to deepen the artistic sense of the operation, Mr. Paolo Baraldi created his artwork from a digital sketch. «This intervention was born from a brilliant and original idea from Losma company: to turn and to transform an electrical cabin into a point of visual and social connection», Mr. Baraldi explains. «It is a simple but powerful gesture that shows how even a technical space can become an opportunity for beauty and for care. The choice of the colors reflects the company's identity and merges with the environment, generating an abstract and harmonious sign that gives back energy to the landscape. Like HG80 company, we believe in the value of collaboration between business companies and the third sector: it is in such alliances and collabotations that a new shared vision of public space is built, where art, work and community meet each other».
